Why is bilingualism good for young children?

Speaking and understanding more than one language has incredibly positive effects on a child’s developing brain.

Children who are bilingual show greater creativity, empathy, self-esteem, problem-solving and compassion.

At the Language Garden, we believe bilingualism also gives a child a view of the world outside their everyday, and makes them more open-minded, curious and resilient.

In their preschool years, most children learn languages quickly and easily, especially with regular contact with native speakers. That’s why at the Language Garden we immerse ourselves in all things Deutsch!

Whether your family are native speakers or not, you can support your child’s bilingual journey by embracing German language and culture at home.

In our Language Garden community, we welcome all language and cultural backgrounds. Our door is open to anyone who wishes to embark on a linguistic adventure.
